Spiderweb Software

Thought I might introduce some of you to another indie developer you have probably never heard of.
This small company was started by Jeff Vogel back in 1994. I remember picking up Exile III: Ruined World back in 1997. It was a dungeon crawler with graphics that you might see on the original NES but man it was fun and very addictive.
Here are a few screens.....lol

Then I picked up Blades of Exile not long after, the graphics are the same but more story and things to do. :)
Jeff has made many fun dungeon crawlers since then and the graphics and gameplay elements have come a long way. But he likes to keep it where anyone can play his games on any system without taxing their machine.
If you are like me the graphics don't mean much anyway, sure they are nice to look at but I'm more interested in story and gameplay.
Here is a look at his latest game Avadon: The Black Fortress
He offers extensive demo's on all of his games. Check out his site.

Added video that shows a good deal of gameplay.

  1. Looks like some great old-school RPG/strategy gaming going on there. I will have to check it out.

  6. This thing looks so old. It's too bad we're used to really good graphics these days, otherwise these games would actually be playable.

  7. Thanks for posting this.

I don't know what's up but the last few weeks has been all about retro stuff.
I played some old games again, and a friend called to tell me he found an old RPG we used to play when very young that I hardly remember.

    I'm gonna nickname this Retro-June.
